Sunflowers, but not the loud kind. The block is small and repeated closely across a dusty, greyed pink — so what you notice from across a room is the colour, and the flowers only appear when you're near.
Straight kurta at 45 inches, cotton cambric, with a matching palazzo. The pink is warm enough to wear through winter and light enough for April.

Printed by hand in Sanganer
Every metre is printed by hand in Sanganer, just outside Jaipur — a town that has been block-printing cotton for close to four hundred years. A carved wooden block is inked and pressed, lifted and placed again, across the whole length of the fabric.
Because a hand places every block, no two pieces match exactly. Joins where one impression meets the next, small shifts in placement, a motif slightly deeper in colour than its neighbour — these are how you tell handwork from a machine print.
We print with Procion reactive dyes. Reactive dye bonds into the cotton fibre rather than sitting on top of it, so the colour goes right through, the fabric stays soft where it's printed, and the print won't crack, peel or flatten out with washing.
Care
- Wash separately the first time — reactive dyes release a little surface colour on the first wash, then settle
- Cold water, gentle cycle or hand wash
- Do not bleach
- Dry in shade, inside out
- Warm iron
