Hand block-printed in Sanganer, just outside Jaipur, on 100% cotton. Cotton is what makes this wearable through a Rajasthan summer; the block print is what stops it looking plain.

Printed by hand in Sanganer
Every metre is printed by hand — a carved wooden block inked and pressed, lifted and placed again, across the whole length of the fabric.
Because a hand places every block, no two pieces match exactly. Joins where one impression meets the next, small shifts in placement, a motif slightly deeper in colour than its neighbour — these are how you tell handwork from a machine print.
We print with Procion reactive dyes. Reactive dye bonds into the cotton fibre rather than sitting on top of it, so the colour goes right through, the fabric stays soft where it's printed, and the print won't crack, peel or flatten out with washing.
Care
- Wash separately the first time — reactive dyes release a little surface colour on the first wash, then settle
- Cold water, gentle cycle or hand wash
- Do not bleach
- Dry in shade, inside out
- Warm iron
